Canon Filmmakers Live in DC

Canon Filmmakers Live in DC

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I signed up for the event. I already followed Jon, Cristina and Philip on Twitter and really liked the work they would post online. All of them have so much talent and information to share. It was a good chance for me to expand my knowledge on DSLRs and a great way to network with professionals in my area.

For those of you on the fence about attending the event I would advise you to go. There is so much one can gain from a workshop like this and as I write this post the thing that sticks out the most to me is motivation. I want to finish writing this and post ASAP so I can go out and shoot more. I want to shoot everything. While in the office and at home I see things that I can shoot and frame. I was even talking to Jon about this at a bar and he simply replied “That’s a great problem to have.” A big part of this drive comes from the passion the three hosts showed through out the day. Even afterwards, Philip was shooting with his Gh2 and you could see how much he loves what he does. Jon and Cristina continued answering everyones questions and seemed to be loving every second of it.

Beyond those three it was great to meet and talk with like minded people that lived in my area. So much passion was in that room, and in the bar, that I couldn’t help but shoot everything I saw. That was just one of the many things I took with me when I left the workshop.

Here’s a little video of some shots I grabbed afterwards that I thought were cool. Thanks again to Jon, Cristina and Philip for the amazing experience!

Rob, great video and captured the essence of the event. It’s amazing a camera can bring a community together and that is what I found with the #cflive hashtag on twitter and like-minded people around the DC-MD area.

    Keep posting quality videos!

I wasn’t at the event, but I think I see some recognizable faces in the video.

Nice to see a video of the day!
Although I traveled from New York overnight, and felt pretty tired, I had a great time.
I am looking forward to more of this!

    Thanks!
