DC United PSA

Posted in All, Behind the Scenes

This was my first professional experience as a videographer. With my job at MetaMedia I have done a lot of secondary and b-roll camera work but this was my chance to be THE videographer. I want to thank Craigslist for finding me the work (haha) and the Joe Lewis Company for hiring me on the team. They do a lot of cool stuff and can be seen at www.joelewiscompany.com.

Setting up the Z1U

The project was for a drunk driving PSA. Great cause and I was happy to be a part of it. We set up a DC United backdrop and lit it with two Arri fresnels. I was going to put a back light but there was no need for it. The footage turned out great and I will post a link as soon as it is up. They provided me with a Sony Z1U and all the audio equipment (a basic shotgun mic on a boom). I brought an Arri light kit, some shot bags, and a grip kit.

Both Matt and Scott were great. It was a very fun shoot and looking forward to working with them again. I must say, even though I haven’t been doing this profession long (not even a year out of college), I love this job! I feel like I get paid to play with cameras and meet cool people.

I wonder what will be my next adventure…
