A few months ago my girlfriend, Jessi Adams, got hired to shoot a friends wedding. I was planning on going and helping with what I could and maybe getting some pictures of my own. Little did I know she was telling Matt and Amber that I did video and soon I was getting ready to do my first solo wedding.
I shot a wedding a couple weeks before with Bryan Tosh and Chip Dizard as a second camera and it was a great experience. Both of them are great to work with and eased a lot of stress associated with shooting a wedding. I got a lot of good experience and was ready to do one on my own. My set up was the Glidecam, shoulder rig with monitor, tripod and used a 17-50 2.8, 30 1.4, and 85 1.8. Lenses worked great. The 17-50 was used primarily and I was real happy with the results. The 85 was good but I may look into something with more of a zoom for the ceremony.
A lot of shots were with the Glidecam and threw on the Z-finder for shots that I wasn’t walking for. I am already working on a custom rig for the next wedding via old parts. I’ll be posting pics on my Twitter when it is complete.
Matt and Amber are a such a fun couple and it was great working with both of them. Both laid back and open to my ideas and how I wanted to shoot it while still being able to capture all the key moments of their special day. Be sure to check out Jessi’s post on the wedding with some of the pictures she got.
So without further delay, here is my first wedding trailer of the season!
